About Jenny
A lifelong dancer, I studied dance at the University of Iowa. Post-college, I veered away from dance and worked in different fields. I always enjoyed working out and what it did for my mind and body, but I hadn’t found the workout that I wanted here in Chicago.
Years later, at the height of COVID, I missed dancing and working out more than ever. I started teaching my classes over Zoom to friends while getting certified in fitness instruction. I knew I could build a business from my passion, and that’s what it became. When we started to leave our houses again, I began teaching in-person outdoors and later inside the Highland Park studio at Bright Bowls.
I was thrilled when clients started to recognize why it’s so important to move our bodies to prevent injury, for mental health
Music is an integral part of my classes. I curate every playlist for each of my classes. I love finding new music. I love building momentum with music as we move. I want you to come to class and feel moved by the music too, pushing you to give a little extra from that boost music gives you.
You do not need to have any dance background to take my classes. All you have to have is a love of moving your body, letting go of your inhibitions, and sweating your tush off.
The environment at Dance Sculpt is completely inclusive. You will see all ages, all abilities. No attitude. I am so proud of the community that has formed at Dance Sculpt, and I welcome you to be a part of it!
